Quick update & Info on VMworld 2015 Sessions

It has been a while since I’ve posted.  Really heads down lately, getting to know my new role.  As a refresher, I’ve moved from a Field Support role as a vSpecialist at EMC to a Tech Marketing role at VMware in the Storage and Availability group.

As much as I’d like to say I’m done with drinking from the firehose, I’m really not.  I’m focusing on Virtual SAN, and the partner ecosystem that works with it.  Lots to learn & lots of folks to work with (internally & externally). It is really different, having the visibility I have now, than before. It is very exciting, and needless to say very busy, with VMworld coming up.

If you are attending VMworld 2015, be sure to add my sessions (based on location) to your schedule:

  • STO5133 (US) – VMware Virtual SAN + HyTrust DataControl: Delivering Encryption Services for Data at Rest and in Motion (With Robb Babb – Principal Systems Engineer – HyTrust)
In this session we will deep dive into VMware’s Virtual SAN and HyTrust DataControl technologies to showcase on-demand provisioning with Encryption as a Service at boot time and the ability for the encryption to follow the workload regardless of location.

  • STO5157 (US/EU) – Running Business Critical Applications with VMware All Flash VSAN
(With Biswapati Bhattacharjee – Technical Marketing Manager – SanDisk Corporation)
In this session, we will discuss how VMware All Flash Virtual SAN, a scale out and distributed system, helps achieve very high transactions (2 Million Transactions Per Minute) for such OLTP applications using Oracle 12c and Microsoft SQL Server 2014 as back-end database.

  • STO6548-GD (US) – Group Discussion on Hyper-converged Infrastructure
Join me for a Group Discussion on Hyper-converged Infrastructure. This will be an interactive & collaborative discussion on Hyper-converged Infrastructure. *Rawlinson Rivera will not be present, so we can talk about him.

In conjunction to presenting sessions, I’ll also be working the VMware booth in the Storage & Availability section. Please drop by and talk with me about Virtual SAN or really anything storage related.

I’m really looking forward to speaking at VMworld, and hope to bring some value to the conversations of Virtual SAN, Encryption, and Business Critical Apps with Virtual SAN.
