vSAN Witness Appliance 6.7 P01 on Workstation 15 (& Fusion 11)

vSAN Witness Appliance 6.7 P01 on Workstation 15 (& Fusion 11)

I haven’t posted here in a while, but I figure this is the best spot a very quick post on for this given it isn’t officially supported. With the release of the vSAN 6.7 P01 Witness Appliance, the OVA now prompts for OVF properties. These additional settings are read upon boot up, and automatically configure networking for the appliance. This streamlines the vSAN Witness Appliance deployment process significantly. I blogged about this here: https://blogs.vmware.com/virtualblocks/2019/11/07/vswa-67p01-update/ Importing pre-vSAN 6.7 P01 vSAN Witness…

Sample 2 Node vSAN Deployment Script

Sample 2 Node vSAN Deployment Script

A couple months back, I published a YouTube video of my deploying/setting up a 2 Node vSAN cluster with nothing but PowerCLI. VSAN Health Check VIB Installation & vSphere ROBO/Essentials Plus

I was talking with a fellow VMware guy, Matt Lydy, at VMworld Barcelona and he brought something to my attention around the Virtual SAN 6.x Health Check Plug-in. Matt is a Technical Account Manager in Ohio. I had the pleasure of working the VMware booth with him at VMworld US. He mentioned that the Health Check plugin requires Dynamic Resource Scheduling (DRS). I was pretty sure this wasn’t correct, but upon further conversation, he specified that DRS is required for…
