{"id":429,"date":"2009-12-16T15:41:30","date_gmt":"2009-12-16T20:41:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/?p=429"},"modified":"2009-12-16T15:41:30","modified_gmt":"2009-12-16T20:41:30","slug":"iomega-storcenter-local-plugin-for-vsphere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/iomega-storcenter-local-plugin-for-vsphere\/","title":{"rendered":"Iomega StorCenter Local Plugin for vSphere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I have been pretty busy lately, but wanted to share something I had done for my lab.<\/p>\n<p>I really liked Alan Renouf&#8217;s <a title=\"Local Plugin Creator script\" href=\"http:\/\/www.virtu-al.net\/2009\/12\/08\/local-plugin-creator\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Local Plugin Creator<\/strong><\/a> script.\u00a0 So I had to try putting the StorCenter URL into my vSphere Client Home screen.<\/p>\n<p>After a little <a title=\"Google Image Search for Iomega\" href=\"http:\/\/images.google.com\/images?hl=en&amp;num=100&amp;newwindow=1&amp;q=iomega%20logo&amp;um=1&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;sa=N&amp;tab=wi\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Google Image Search for Iomega<\/strong><\/a>, I found a logo.\u00a0 So I created two .PNG files to be placed on my vCenter server.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/iomega_logo_32x.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-431 alignleft\" title=\"iomega_logo_32x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/iomega_logo_32x.png\" alt=\"iomega_logo_32x\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><\/a><br \/>\niomega_logo_32x.png<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/iomega_logo_16x.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-432\" title=\"iomega_logo_16x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/iomega_logo_16x.png\" alt=\"iomega_logo_16x\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><\/a> iomega_logo_16x.png<\/p>\n<p>I saved these files to c:Program FilesVMwareInfrastructuretomcatwebappsROOT<\/p>\n<p>Next, I used Alan&#8217;s Local Plugin Creator to generate the following XML:<\/p>\n<p>&lt;scriptConfiguration version=&#8221;1.0.0&#8243;&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;key&gt;Iomega&lt;\/key&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;description&gt;Storcenter&lt;\/description&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;vendor&gt;Iomega&lt;\/vendor&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;view parent=&#8221;Inventory.Global&#8221;&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;title locale=&#8221;en&#8221;&gt;Storcenter&lt;\/title&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;url&gt;http:\/\/storcenter.jasemccarty.com\/&lt;\/url&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;icon&gt;https:\/\/vcenter.jasemccarty.com:8443\/iomega_logo_32x.png&lt;\/icon&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;iconSmaller&gt;https:\/\/vcenter.jasemccarty.com:8443\/iomega_logo_16x.png&lt;\/iconSmaller&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/view&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/scriptConfiguration&gt;<\/p>\n<p>I created a folder called Iomega in C:Program FilesVMwareInfrastructureVirtual Infrastructure ClientPlugins and saved the XML as Iomega.xml<\/p>\n<p>I then relaunched my vSphere Client, and there was my new local plugin, pointing at the web management URL for my StorCenter.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/StorCenterPlugin.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-430\" title=\"StorCenterPlugin\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/StorCenterPlugin-300x229.png\" alt=\"StorCenterPlugin\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I have been pretty busy lately, but wanted to share something I had done for my lab.
