The additions for vSAN include updates to some existing cmdlets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Storage Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The cmdlets updated include: <strong>Get-VsanSpaceUsage<\/strong>, <strong>Get\/Set-VsanClusterConfiguration<\/strong>, and <strong>Test-VsanNetworkPerformance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>vSAN 6.7 Update 1 added the ability to estimate the amount of free capacity for a vSAN cluster using a selected Storage Policy in the UI:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/virtualblocks\/files\/2019\/02\/67U1CAPWHATIF.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15689\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/virtualblocks\/files\/2019\/02\/67U1CAPWHATIF.png\" alt=\"PowerCLI 11.2\" width=\"221\" height=\"108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/virtualblocks\/files\/2019\/02\/67U1CAPWHATIF.png 596w, https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/virtualblocks\/files\/2019\/02\/67U1CAPWHATIF-220x108.png 220w, https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/virtualblocks\/files\/2019\/02\/67U1CAPWHATIF-290x142.png 290w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 221px) 100vw, 221px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Get-VsanSpaceUsage<\/strong> cmdlet can now accept a -StoragePolicy parameter and report what the estimated free capacity for a vSAN Cluster would be.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Get\/Set-VsanClusterConfiguration<\/strong> cmdlet adds some additional parameters that can be reported against and configured respectively these include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CustomizedSwapObjectEnabled &#8211; This configures the VM swap file to inherit the VM&#8217;s Namespace policy<\/li>\n<li>GuestTrimUnmap &#8211; Enables TRIM &amp; UNMAP support for vSAN 6.7 U1<br \/>\nMore information can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/storagehub.vmware.com\/t\/vmware-vsan\/vsan-space-efficiency-technologies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Space Efficiency Technologies<\/a> section of StorageHub<\/li>\n<li>LargeClusterSupported &#8211; Enable large cluster support (&gt;32 hosts), which is now exposed in Cluster Quickstart in 6.7 U1 as well<\/li>\n<li>ObjectRepairTimerMinutes &#8211; Configure the Object Repair Timer value for the cluster &#8211; Also in the vSphere Client in 6.7 U1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Test-VsanNetworkPerformance<\/strong> cmdlet adds a -DurationInSecond parameter to adjust the duration of a vSAN Network Performance test.<\/p>\n<p>A few samples have been added to the <a href=\"https:\/\/storagehub.vmware.com\/section-assets\/powercli-cookbook-for-vsan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PowerCLI Cookbook for vSAN<\/a> (now v1.4) on <a href=\"https:\/\/storagehub.vmware.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">StorageHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While not necessarily related to Storage, those Administrators that are security conscious, PowerCLI also introduces some additional authentication options, including support for GovCloud.<\/p>\n<p>More information can be found on the PowerCLI blog:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/PowerCLI\/2019\/02\/powercli-11-2-0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/PowerCLI\/2019\/02\/powercli-11-2-0.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was originally posted on the VMware Virtual Blocks site: https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/virtualblocks\/2019\/02\/28\/powercli-11-2-vsan\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PowerCLI 11.2 has now been released.
