Some of the new features include some <strong><a title=\"Virtualization | EMC Isilon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.isilon.com\/virtualization\/\" target=\"_blank\">virtualization<\/a><\/strong> components, specifically around VMware integration.<\/p>\n<p>One of those integrations, is around <strong><a title=\"VMware: VMware vSphere Blog: vSphere 5.0 Storage Features Part 10 - VASA - vSphere Storage APIs - Storage Awareness:\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/vsphere\/2011\/08\/vsphere-50-storage-features-part-10-vasa-vsphere-storage-apis-storage-awareness.html?src=vmw_so_vex_jmcca_429\" target=\"_blank\">VASA<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not going to go deep into VASA, I&#8217;ll let the above link do that.<\/p>\n<p>With Isilon OneFS 7.0, it is very easy to implement VASA integration.<\/p>\n<p>To get started, the VASA service needs to be enabled from within OneFS 7.0.\u00a0 The command for this is &#8220;<strong>isi services isi_vasa_d enable<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p Client<\/strong>, there is a slightly <a title=\"Web Client Method\" href=\"#WEBCLIENTSETUP\"><strong>different process<\/strong><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a populate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Different types System Storage Capabilities will be displayed, depending on the type of storage presented.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The different capabilities are:<br \/>\nHYBRID: Storage on a mixed Isilon hardware configuration<br \/>\nULTRA_PERFORMANCE: Storage on Isilon S Series hardware with SSD acceleration<br \/>\nPERFORMANCE: Storage on Isilon S Series hardware or SSD accelerated storage<br \/>\nCAPACITY: Storage on Isilon X Series hardware<br \/>\nARCHIVE: Storage on Isilon N\/L Series hardware<br \/>\nUNKNOWN: The storage capability of this object is unknown<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For more information on how to configure VASA on our other EMC arrays, Craig Stewart has a good write-up on that here:
