About a year and a half ago, I was talking with a buddy of mine, Marcus<\/a><\/strong>, who was thinking of getting into virtualization.\u00a0 In the many times a year that we work together, we always have conversations about technology.<\/p>\n

In the past few years more of our conversations revolve around leveraging VMware. We pretty much talk about everything VMware from the technical perspective, the VMTN Community<\/a><\/strong> perspective, and even VMworld<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Having been to VMworld several times, I’ve shared quite a few things I learned, things I did, and my experiences.<\/p>\n

Roughly a year ago, Marcus had mentioned that he had ordered some equipment, purchased a VMware package, and was in the process of getting things up and running.\u00a0 He had a few questions for me regarding setting up his new environment, we discussed some of them high level, but didn’t really have the time to go deep into best practices\/reference architectures\/etc.<\/p>\n

He asked me if I thought he should ask his boss to go to VMworld.\u00a0 As someone who has been several times, and know the value, I immediately told him “Absolutely!”<\/p>\n

I’ve spoken to this a couple times on my blog, but in this case, I’m going to refer to Marcus for that.\u00a0 Marcus has a very good perspective from a “new to virtualization” & SMB guy’s point of view.<\/p>\n
