{"id":120,"date":"2009-04-08T14:05:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-08T21:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/vcenter-mobile-access-time-zone-update.html"},"modified":"2009-04-08T14:05:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-08T21:05:00","slug":"vcenter-mobile-access-time-zone-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/vcenter-mobile-access-time-zone-update\/","title":{"rendered":"vCenter Mobile Access &#8211; Time Zone Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I really like the vCenter Mobile Access Tech Preview!<\/p>\n<p>One thing that kind of got me, was that the time zone cannot be changed from the guest interface.<br \/>\nSo I started playing around with the back end&#8230; I&#8217;ve never used CentOS, of which the appliance is based on.<\/p>\n<p>After a little playing around, I figured out what I needed to do.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I sshed into my vCMA appliance<\/li>\n<li>View the contents of \/etc\/sysconfig\/clock<br \/>\nYou&#8217;ll see:<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family:courier new;\">ZONE=&#8221;America\/Los_Angeles&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family:courier new;\">UTC=false<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family:courier new;\">ARC=false<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Use vi to modify the clock file<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m in the Central Time Zone, so I replaced the contents with:<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family:courier new;\">ZONE=&#8221;America\/Chicago&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family:courier new;\">UTC=false<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family:courier new;\">ARC=false<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Save the file<\/li>\n<li>Restart the vCMA appliance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasemccarty.com\/blog\/uploaded_images\/vcma-738615.jpg\" onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it.
